Recently, I happened to be at the auzashar (breaking of the fast) in a local mosque. I listened attentively to the preaching of the Imam. On this day he told the hadith about the restraint of the Prophet.
Once the Prophet was at sports competitions. People competed in strength, accuracy, dexterity. They tried their best to defeat the rivals.
After observing the people, the Prophet said, “The strongest person is not the one who defeated the opponent, but the one who defeated himself, his anger, temper, anger.”
I agree with these words.
In general, although I am an atheist, I am ready to support religions in their propaganda of universal human values.
This hadith about self-restraint is correct, that is why I’m retelling it, and I urge everyone to follow it.
