Should we be proud of our illustrious athletes if they are involved in doping scandals?
I think not.
They committed misconduct and should be punished for it.
It does not matter that they are our fellow citizens.
The truth is one for all, as for our people, and for others.
If we shift from this rule, then we will roll along the inclined plane. We will begin to support Kazakhstani terrorists in Syria or Ukraine. We will begin defending criminals, because they are our relatives or fellow citizens. We will start insisting on the incorrect position of our colleague on the basis of the “the honor of the regiment”.
We will go a long way.
Our moral guidelines will go awry.
It is not right.
The concept of “right” in our hierarchy of values should stand above the concept of “one’s own”.
