I remember, I was about 10 back then. One bully, who was a couple years older than me, was picking at me, he beat me and took a toy from me. Usual story.
Crying, I ran home and complained to my father. But instead of taking my side, my father got angry, gave me a slap upside my head and said, “Deal with it by yourself!”, then turned me and sent back outdoors.
Since then I have been dealing with my problems by myself: sometimes I fought, sometimes, when I wasn’t strong enough, I adapted, made friends, united with someone, that is survived as best I could, because I knew I had nothing to complain to, no one would come to my defense.
This was a small lesson I learned for my whole life.
Thanks to my father.
