There is not a single minister or vice-minister in our country, not a single akim or deputy akim, not a single member of Parliament or maslikhat who could not speak Russian.

But in our country there are many ministers, akims, deputies who speak poorly or do not speak the Kazakh language at all.

In our country, most meetings in the Government, ministries, Parliament, and most akimats are held in Russian. The maximum that can be done in Kazakh is to read the introduction and conclusion of the report.

In our country, in any store, restaurant, pharmacy, cinema, you can express yourself in Russian and buy a product or service.

But not in every store, restaurant, pharmacy, cinema there is an employee who speaks Kazakh, so a Kazakh-speaking citizen has a risk of not getting the right product or service.

Russian is the language of all major websites in our country, so you can buy any product and service in Russian via the Internet, you can be the first to find out all the news in the country, you can discuss important social issues.

But in Kazakh it is difficult to find an apartment on real estate sites, it is difficult to choose a car on car sales sites, it is difficult to buy things on marketplaces.

In our country, if there is at least one Russian in a company of ten people, then the remaining nine Kazakhs will speak Russian out of respect for him.

But if at least nine people in a company of ten people are Kazakhs, the only Russian is unlikely to speak Kazakh out of respect for them.

So which language is being infringed in Kazakhstan?
